Virginia Pearl Kidd is a Chicago-based multidisciplinary artist focused on the feminine. Born and raised in Texas, her roots carry formidable influence, saturating her pieces with a bittersweet Southern twang. Her practice ponders the feminine ordeal, and draws from her own girlhood and womanhood as well as her experiences in life, luck, and love. She is currently honing in on ceramics as a primary medium, often marrying clay with unconventional materials that linger from her background in sculpture and fibers. She is currently pursuing a BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
